A Timesavers Series 137-1HDMW flat part deburring/finishing system, incorporating "wet" cooling and dust control, enables the deburring and sanding of flat parts to eliminate sharp edges and impart a "grained" finish to metal parts up to 37 inches in width prior to subsequent forming, finishing, or other operations. This new "Timesaver" reduces the need for manual deburring, improves the surface finish, and provides a surface which enhances the performance of additional finishes on parts. Automatic features incorporated in this machine improve control and reduce costs, resulting in improved productivity and quality, as well as provide for a clean, safe, dust free operating environment.

Airflow Systems grinding tables for aluminum and steel grinding and finishing of welded parts have been recently added. These self-contained downdraft tables each provide a work area of 42" X 66" and integral dust collection of contaminants and particles resulting from grinding. The addition of these tables was the result of a recommendation of one of our "Kaizen" teams. The results obtained were improved productivity of our grinding operations by bringing the grinding process in close proximity to welding stations, greatly improved grinder's operating environment thus their safety and productivity, and improved lighting for the operation with greatly improved grinding quality.

Electromet's painting process has recently been significantly improved through the addition of a "driQuik" flow through, infra-red paint drying oven. The "driQuik" oven provides dual zones, with time and temperature control, and full-length fume exhaust. Our Painting "Kaizen" team implemented the installation, replacing a batch-type, convection oven, thus improving efficiencies and productivity by having a flow of painted parts through the process. Improved control over the process contributes to better, more consistent quality. The floor mounted conveyor system reduces handling requirements.
