News : Integrated Power System (IPS)

Electromet was selected by Bogue Systems and Bath Iron Works (BIW) to provide the Integrated Power System (IPS) electronic enclosures for the Navy’s new Zumwalt Class (DDG 1000) Destroyers.  The Integrated Power System supports an all electric-drive propulsion plant and provides an exponential increase in power for combat systems and sensors.  Reduction in auxiliary systems improves stealth due to a decreased acoustic signature.  The IPS has improved survivability due to a power conversion network that can’t be interrupted because of advanced fault isolation and “Fight Through” capabilities.  Electromet will provide several variants of a Modified-COTS, Grade-A shock qualified enclosure to support the IPS program.
